Goodbye, Mocha

Parting from a pig: We extend our condolences to my sister Tracy on the death of Mocha, her beloved guinea pig.  Mocha was somewhere between 6.5 and 7 years old, and since the normal lifespan for a guinea pig is between 5 and 8 years, she had a full life.

Mocha moved across the country with Tracy, went with her to visit classrooms and get petted by countless kids, and was an affectionate and funny little thing. Only those of us who have loved and lived with animals can understand the ache when they die.

How ’bout them elections, huh?  Amazing, exciting, and inspiring.  Oddly, while California voters went solidly for Obama (massive point spread), they also passed Proposition 8, which seems counter-intuitive.  Some analysts suggest that most African Americans are actually more socially conservative.  Who knows.  But here’s what I have to say on that idiot proposition.  Hat tip to SG.

  1. Thanks so much for the tribute to dear, departed Mocha (aka The Pigness). She looks very fetching in the photo. We miss her terribly.
